Senior Data Scientist - Machine Learning (5-7 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the development and implementation of our AI/ML initiatives. You will be responsible for the entire data science lifecycle, from data preparation and analysis to model building, deployment, and evaluation.

A strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and experience with large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI/GPT-4 is essential.

You will collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to ensure models align with business goals and deliver impactful results.

Responsibilities :

Data Preparation and Understanding :

- Prepare and manage data for project plans, proactively identifying changes and communicating updates to senior leads.

- Develop usable datasets, contributing to data ethics and privacy policies.

- Engage with customers regarding data integrity and cleanliness.

Evaluating for Insight and Impact :

- Own end-to-end product metrics for AI/ML initiatives.

- Ensure models align with business goals and evaluate their effectiveness.

- Design feedback mechanisms and mentor engineers on model evaluation.

- Present findings and insights to stakeholders.

Modeling and Statistical Analysis :

- Utilize machine learning solutions and algorithms to identify the best approach for project objectives.

- Understand and apply various modeling techniques, managing data quality throughout the process.

- Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Write scripts in T-SQL, U-SQL, KQL, Python, and R.

- Construct hypotheses, design experiments, analyze results, and communicate conclusions.

- Develop scalable operational models in collaboration with data engineering teams.

Large Language Model (LLM) Expertise :

- Hands-on experience with OpenAI/GPT-4 is mandatory.

- Exposure to Gemini and/or Llama is highly desirable.

- Be actively involved in the implementation, building, and tuning of these models.

Model Operationalization :

- Guide the Solution Architect and provide expertise on model operationalization, leveraging existing technologies, products, solutions, established patterns, and best practices.

- Collaborate with the engineering team to set up and maintain the MLOps pipeline.

Background :

- 5-7 years of experience building and deploying ML models at scale.

- B.Tech/B.Sc/MSc./Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics from a top-tier institution.

- Ph.D is a plus (not mandatory).

- Expert-level proficiency in Python, SQL, object-oriented programming, and machine learning libraries (i.e., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

- Strong understanding of statistical concepts, machine learning algorithms, AI principles, and NLP tools and techniques.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Spark, AWS cloud services, and data pipeline architectures.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points :

- Experience with other cloud platforms (i.e., Azure, GCP).

- Contributions to open-source projects related to machine learning or data science.

- Publications in reputable conferences or journals
