Deputy Vice President, Information Technology Disaster Recovery Operations

Overview:

- As the Deputy Vice President of Information Technology - Disaster Recovery Operations, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the IT disaster recovery program, ensuring the organization's ability to recover IT systems and operations in the event of a disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure the timely recovery of critical IT systems and services.

- Work closely with IT teams to identify critical systems, applications, and data to be included in the disaster recovery plan.

- Conduct regular testing and validation of disaster recovery plans to ensure their effectiveness.

- Coordinate and facilitate simulated disaster recovery exercises to assess readiness and identify areas for improvement.

- Serve as a key point of contact during IT incidents and emergencies, leading the implementation of the disaster recovery plan as needed.

- Collaborate with incident response teams to ensure a coordinated and effective response.

- Maintain up-to-date documentation of disaster recovery plans, procedures, and test results.

- Provide regular reports to leadership on the status of disaster recovery preparedness and any identified risks.

- Conduct training sessions for IT teams and other relevant stakeholders to raise awareness of disaster recovery procedures and protocols.

- Ensure that staff members are familiar with their roles and responsibilities during a disaster recovery scenario.

- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure that disaster recovery services and solutions meet the organization's requirements.

- Evaluate and enhance the disaster recovery program based on lessons learned from testing, incidents, and industry best practices.

- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in disaster recovery.

- Work closely with IT security, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate disaster recovery considerations into overall IT planning and strategy.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

- Proven experience (10+ years) overseeing DR operations.

- Relevant certifications such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), DRP (Disaster Recovery Professional), or equivalent are desirable.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Solid understanding of industry compliance and regulatory requirements.

- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans in a dynamic business environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and develop effective disaster recovery strategies.
