Responsibilities
- Assist in managing storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage), ensuring availability and performance.
- Assist in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and timely recovery in case of failures.
- Provide L1/L2 support for storage and backup-related incidents and service requests, escalating issues as needed for timely resolution.
- Monitor storage and backup performance metrics, identifying and implementing optimization opportunities to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Maintain documentation of storage and backup configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generate reports on storage utilization and backup success rates.
- Implement and adhere to security policies, procedures, and best practices for storage and backup environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure integrated and efficient operations of storage and backup systems.
- Assist in managing changes to storage and backup systems through testing, coordination, and documentation to minimize risks and disruptions.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience in supporting storage and backup systems within a data center or IT infrastructure environment.
- Familiarity with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.
- Basic understanding of backup solutions and methodologies (e.g., tape backup, disk-based backup, cloud backup).
- Experience with storage management tools and monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and task execution.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
- Certifications related to storage and backup technologies (e.g., CompTIA Storage+, EMC Proven Professional).
- Experience with enterprise backup software such as Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, or Veeam.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
