Lead-Vendor Development (EV) Motors and Controllers

Motor & Controller- Power Train

• Should have experience development of PMSM motor, Controller, Transmission system such as Belt drives, Chain drives etc.,
• Should have experience in EV Parts Sourcing, Vendor Development, Costing, Negotiation and Price Settlement
• Should have the exposure in Cost estimation for the Motors and controllers
• Understanding on PMSM Motor assembly / Manufacturing, child parts and technical details of parts / child parts
• Ability to understand the PowerTrain engineering, diagrams and performance curves
• Should have the knowledge on Supplier base on EV components
• Awareness of Market Trends, Domestic & Global govt policies, Impact analysis, Competitive Benchmark data, Market Intelligence
• Awareness on Automotive standards / Testing related to motor & controller, Transmission system (Belt, Chains)
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)
• SAP MM & PLM user experience

• Collaborate with various teams to understand product requirements and parts specications
• Identify potential suppliers and send RFQ to them based on part design and bill of materials received from current engineering team
• Liaise with vendors/ suppliers on a regular basis for sourcing of components and parts
• Gauge capability of suppliers by conducting design for manufacturing (DFM) discussions with suppliers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify modications/ changes required and work towards reducing rejection rates of incoming parts
• Review order status and ensure adherence to Direct on line targets and business plan targets/vehicle
• Calculate target costing for components in collaboration with the Cost Management team and ensure that proposed suppliers meet the target band
• Evaluate performance and propose suppliers based on suitable evaluation in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team
• Provide technical guidance (mechanical and engineering feedback) to shortlisted suppliers in order to meet component reliability, supply chain eciency and overall cost reduction
• Supervise supplier quality engineers responsible for component release; conduct component inspection audits
• Resolve quality issues and monitor corrective procedures as per guidelines specied by quality assurance
• Ensure completion of the Product Part Approval process in collaboration with Current Engineering and Quality assurance team
• Ensure a smooth handover to procurement team for sourcing material for start of production.

Education:

• BE - Electrical & Electronics / Power Electronics / Mechatronics

Experience:

• 10+ years experience in the vendor development function in the automobile industry (OEMs, ancillaries)
