Job Description
Job Requirements
Work Experience
- Should have experience development of PMSM motor, Controller, Transmission system such as Belt drives, Chain drives etc.,
- Should have experience in EV Parts Sourcing, Vendor Development, Costing, Negotiation and Price Settlement
- Should have the exposure in Cost estimation for the Motors and controllers
- Understanding on PMSM Motor assembly / Manufacturing, child parts and technical details of parts / child parts
- Ability to understand the PowerTrain engineering, drgs and performance curves
- Should have the knowledge on Supplier base on EV components
- Awareness of Market Trends, Domestic & Global govt policies, Impact analysis, Competitive Benchmark data, Market Intelligence
- Awareness on Automotive standards / Testing related to motor & controller, Transmission system (Belt, Chains)
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)
- SAP MM & PLM user experience
- Collaborate with various teams to understand product requirements and parts specications
- Identify potential suppliers and send RFQ to them based on part design and bill of materials received from current engineering team
- Liaise with vendors/ suppliers on a regular basis for sourcing of components and parts
- Gauge capability of suppliers by conducting design for manufacturing (DFM) discussions with suppliers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify modications/ changes required and work towards reducing rejection rates of incoming parts
- Review order status and ensure adherence to Direct on line targets and business plan targets/vehicle
- Calculate target costing for components in collaboration with the Cost Management team and ensure that proposed suppliers meet the target band
- Evaluate performance and propose suppliers based on suitable evaluation in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team
- Provide technical guidance (mechanical and engineering feedback) to shortlisted suppliers in order to meet component reliability, supply chain eciency and overall cost reduction
- Supervise supplier quality engineers responsible for component release; conduct component inspection audits
- Resolve quality issues and monitor corrective procedures as per guidelines specied by quality assurance
- Ensure completion of the Product Part Approval process in collaboration with Current Engineering and Quality assurance team.
Work Experience
Education:
- B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical & Electronics / Power Electronics / Mechatronics
Experience:
- 5 + years experience in the vendor development function in the automobile industry (OEMs, ancillaries)
