Database Test Engineer - Big Data (5-7 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Tester to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data warehousing, big data technologies, and testing methodologies.

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our data-intensive applications.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Planning and Execution :

- Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases to cover all aspects of the application.

- Execute test cases manually and automate test scripts using appropriate tools.

- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

Data Validation and Analysis :

- Validate data accuracy and consistency across various data sources.

- Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues.

- Perform root cause analysis for data quality issues.

Automation :

- Automate test cases using appropriate tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

- Maintain and enhance automation scripts.

Performance Testing :

- Conduct performance testing to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Monitor system performance under various load conditions.

Data Warehousing and Big Data :

- Experience in testing applications built on Spark, Scala, and Hadoop.

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and SQL queries.

- Proficiency in working with object storage systems.

Collaboration :

- Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to ensure smooth project execution.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in data warehousing and big data testing.

- Strong knowledge of SQL, including complex queries and data analysis.

- Experience with testing frameworks and tools.

- Proficiency in scripting languages like Unix shell scripting.

- Experience with data integration tools like Nifi is a plus.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
