Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
1) Engagement with CERC, CEA, MNRE, MOP, state energy departments, appropriate state commission, discoms and other regulatory bodies for business purpose.
2) Drafting / review of regulatory petitions / representations and other government representations for achieving business objectives.
3) Coordinating and / or attending external meetings with government organizations, regulatory bodies, etc.
4) Finding solutions to business problems through regulatory / policy interventions.
5) Gather market intelligence in terms of competitor strategy across range of issues including but not limited to regulatory interventions, policy advocacy, and business models.
6) Track developments in the power sector for bidding, regulatory and competition perspective at the central and the state level, which can affect business.
7) Keep abreast of market trends and dynamics.
8) Consult other IPPs, regulators and OEMs on upcoming policies in the field of renewable energy and broader power sector, and partner with them for policy advocacy.
Profile & Eligible Criteria :
1. Minimum 5 years of experience in the power sector specific advisory / regulatory / policy research.
2. Preferably have exposure of handling regulatory affairs for at least 3 years in the power sector.
3. Should have experience on drafting / commenting / influencing draft regulations/ policies.
4. Understanding of power market design and operations both in India and outside India will be an added advantage.

Main Interfaces :
1. The role would require extensive internal interfacing with business teams and support functions.
2. External interfaces would be with government organizations, regulators, utilities and other institutions - both at national and state level.
3. External interface with discoms, ERCs, lawyers, colleagues in other power sector companies etc.
