Position Overview:
The Internal Control manager is responsible for ensuring the organization maintains a strong internal control framework, promoting compliance, safeguarding assets, and improving operational efficiency. This role will focus on assessing, monitoring, and improving internal control systems across financial, operational, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate with departments to identify potential risks and implement controls to mitigate them, ensuring organizational integrity and minimizing financial risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Internal Control Design & Implementation:
• Develop and implement effective internal control systems, processes, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify weaknesses in financial and operational controls.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

• Monitoring & Auditing:

• Perform routine internal audits to evaluate control effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Review financial transactions, operational processes, and reports for compliance with internal control policies.
• Recommend corrective actions and process enhancements based on audit findings.

• Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of internal control systems, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare internal control reports for senior management, outlining risk assessments, audit results, and corrective action plans.
• Assist in the preparation for external audits, ensuring all necessary information is available and accurate.
• Collaboration & Training:
• Work closely with other departments to provide guidance on internal controls and best practices.
• Train staff on internal control procedures and compliance requirements.
• Advise on the design of new processes and systems, ensuring they align with internal control standards.

• Risk Management:

• Monitor the effectiveness of current risk management practices and propose updates as needed.
• Identify emerging risks and recommend measures to mitigate financial and operational threats.
• Collaborate with the risk management team to develop strategies for minimizing exposure to fraud, waste, and inefficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Chartered Accountant

• Experience:
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in internal control, auditing, or risk management.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, including COSO and SOX compliance.
• Experience in financial reporting, risk assessment, and audit processes.

• Skills:
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
• Proficiency with internal control software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
• Knowledge of specific industry regulations and standards related to internal control.
