Job Description

Role Overview:

A Senior Copywriter in an advertising agency, marketing department, or similar creative environment plays a pivotal role in creating compelling and persuasive content across various media. This position demands a combination of creative flair, strategic thinking, and exceptional writing skills. The Senior Copywriter works closely with clients, and creative teams, to develop and execute campaigns that effectively communicate brand messages and drive engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of copy briefs and answer them to a very high standard.

Develop creative strategies that are forward-thinking and in-line with current media trends.

Demonstrate a clear understanding of campaign objectives and devise strategies to achieve them.

Edit and fact-check pieces of copy generated by colleagues (e.g. Junior Copywriters).

Manage multiple projects, with the ability to switch from one to the other seamlessly Meet deadlines.

Push clients towards fresh, exciting ideas and Liaise with clients.

Complete timesheets and reports.

Skills:

Significant experience in professional, commercial writing.

A strong record in creating immaculate copy that stands out from the crowd.

The ability to plan and strategize high-profile projects.

A persuasive and confident approach to creativity.

Excellent communication skills.

A keen attention to detail and timescales.

Familiarity with creative processes and techniques including digital media.

Confidence in building a rapport with clients and nurturing good working relationships.

Role Expectations:

Should have experience working on Integrated Full Funnel Marketing Campaigns.

Working alongside the planning function, if called for, to help uncover deep behavior and emotional needs surrounding a business challenge to help shape the translation of research into macro insights that ignite creative concept development and idea generation.

Collaborating and/or leading multidisciplinary teams including art directors, visual designers, UX designers, writers, producers, videographers, technologists and studio/production(print,video, online).

Collaborating with the planning and account function to consult and advise senior clients to help frame up their problem and encourage broader and bigger thinking.

Responsible for taking a client s brief and generating original copy/campaign ideas that grab attention of the target audience. This can include creating straplines, slogans, AD copies, campaigns, jingles, scripts etc.

Leading agency presentations when required and possible, both in new business pitches and current client creative run-throughs.

Cultivating and inspiring a team of creative staff who possess the aspiration, intellect, and creative talent capable of developing memorable experiences for client s brands.

Oversees the end to end production phase of his/her respective project.

Monitor and guide junior copywriters, move them up the value chain and oversee their production work.

Accountable for checking all content being advertised.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field. A Master s degree in a relevant field can be a plus but is not always required.
