Job Description
We envision a world where anyone can write without limits Together, our companiesQuillBot, Scribbr, and LanguageToolare on a mission to make written communication in any language better and more efficient If you're passionate about using technology to help people connect across cultures, join us As a senior UI developer, you will be building and maintaining our design system across multiple platforms and brands You will have the opportunity to work with a great team of designers, developers, and product managers tackling interesting system design challenges across geographies If you're a front-end expert with an eye for good design, are great at system thinking and collaboration, and can adapt to changing product needs, then you'll be a great fit Ownership Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our design system: design, build, document, and maintain our library along with the Design System team Take ownership of the testing, deploying, and monitoring of our multi-platform design system Management Monitor, identify, and design solutions to system-related issues Work with the team to manage and address the backlogs and roadmap of library features Measure the impact of design system updates and iterate based on data and feedback Collaboration Work closely with designers, product owners, and other engineers to identify library challenges and provide high-quality solutions Support front-end teams through code reviews, pair programming, and facilitation Communication mentorship Promote and drive the adoption of the design system across cross-functional teams through clear documentation, training, workshops, etc Actively participate in design system related activities Coach junior developers and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and development Process Follow, contribute, and improve the existing design system workflow and processes Assist in research activities to assess the health of the system and propose ways to improve it Create tools and workflows that help delivery teams contribute to the design system (eg, linter rules, pipelines, documentation) Be aware of latest industry trends and best practices 5+ years of front-end development experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on building and maintaining design systems at scale Experience in developing pixel-perfect UI components for various platforms (web, extensions, etc) Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue js, and front-end tooling such as Webpack, ESLint, and Prettier Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code Strong understanding of code versioning tools, particularly Git, and experience with CI/CD pipelines Deep understanding of web accessibility standards and experience building products that are inclusive of users with varying abilities Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD Excellent written and oral communication skills You should have examples of prior documentation work you have done Brownie points: Experience managing multi-brand design systems across platforms, languages, and markets Knowledge of web performance optimisation techniques Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Cypress Animation proficiency, including CSS animations, Rive, Lottie, etc Competitive salary Equity Annual performance bonus Health insurance coverage (7 Lacs for self and family) Life Insurance 3X the CTC Accidental Insurance 3X the CTC Learning Learning and Development Policy Reimbursement of Courses Flexibility Privilege Leave Paid Leaves Casual Leaves Mandatory Leaves Special Leaves Flexible Holiday Menstrual Leaves Maternity Leaves Flexible Paternity Leave Compassionate Leave Marriage Leave Workstation Setup Reimbursement Internet Bill Reimbursement Remote-friendly culture Fun Quarterly team and city meetings Annual Workations
