About the role
As a Tax Associate Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing various tax-related activities to ensure compliance and efficiency. You will work closely with the finance team, auditors, and tax authorities to handle tax computations, filings, tax audits, and more.
Mission:
Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance across multiple tax jurisdictions, focusing on direct tax obligations, reporting accuracy, and adherence tax requirements in multiple tax jurisdiction.
Objectives:
Direct tax Compliance for India other Tax jurisdictions:
Calculate and pay monthly WHT payments for residents and non-residents and prepare Quarterly TDS returns.
Compute advance tax liability and ensure electronic payment of advance tax before due dates
Prepare forms such as Form 3CD, Form 3CEB, Form 15 CA/ CB, Form 56F, Form 29B, along with necessary schedules and annexures as per the tax laws
Liaise with tax auditors to ensure relevant direct tax forms are audited and filed electronically after internal review and approval.
Prepare necessary schedules and details required income tax computation and Income tax return (ITR).
Timely File income tax returns electronically, after internal > review and approval, before due dates
Coordinate with other teams for filing foreign entity tax returns in India before due dates.
Tax Audits Controversies management
Track notices received, dates of hearings for tax assessments, and maintain historical data of various tax issues year-wise.
Liaise Tax authorities for any communication received from CPC and other revenue authorities for WHT
Prepare submissions, schedules, and charts required for submission to Income Tax authorities, and appear before them, if required, upon receiving notices.
Collate, analyze, and present information for various tax audits at CIT/ DRP ITAT level
Coordinate and compile information for consultants for transfer pricing assessments
Tax accounting and Financial Reporting:
Provide detailed tax data for statutory audits and global reporting.
Support quarterly US GAAP tax provisions, working papers, and reconciliations
Prepare tax provision statements and notes for multiple tax jurisdictions
Maintain tax balances as per accounting standards, make accounting entries on receipt of orders from authorities, and track the tax provisions and payments.
Assist in preparing current deferred taxes and notes to accounts for related party transactions and tax provision workings.
Global Coordination Advisory:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations across APJ EMEA.
Coordinate with other team for foreign entities to meet filing obligations.
Advise Accounts Payable on withholding taxes and monitor TDS liabilities for multiple tax jurisdiction
Experience Qualifications:
Minimum 8-9 years in direct tax at a multinational corporation or big 4 tax consultancy firms.
Advanced degree in law, accounting (CA/CPA/CMA equivalent), or taxation preferred.
Expertise in India tax laws Knowledge of global tax laws and DTAA
Technical Skills:
Proficient in ERP systems like oracle, tax software, and Excel for analysis and reporting
