Civil Engineer - A reputed university

Position Summary:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and maintenance of civil works on campus. The role includes overseeing construction, renovation, and repair projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and managing campus infrastructure to maintain a safe, sustainable, and well-functioning learning environment. The Civil Engineer will collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure that all civil projects meet quality, cost, and timeline expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Campus Infrastructure Planning & Management:

• Oversee civil engineering projects on campus, including new construction, renovations, and maintenance of buildings, roads, drainage systems, and other infrastructure.
• Plan, budget, and schedule civil works projects in alignment with university requirements and strategic plans.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site inspections to assess structural stability and project viability.

2. Project Execution & Supervision:

• Manage on-site activities during construction and renovation projects to ensure quality control, adherence to timelines, and compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Review and approve drawings, plans, and project documentation, ensuring compliance with local regulations and building codes.

3. Maintenance & Repairs:

• Manage the maintenance and repair of university infrastructure, including buildings, roads, water supply, sewage systems, and other civil structures.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to extend the life of campus facilities.
• Inspect campus infrastructure regularly to identify issues and initiate timely repairs.

4. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all civil works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct safety audits and ensure corrective measures are implemented to mitigate risks.
• Maintain documentation of civil works, including project reports, maintenance logs, and compliance records.

5. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:

• Collaborate with university departments to understand infrastructure needs and provide solutions.
• Prepare detailed project reports, including progress updates, budget reports, and risk assessments.
• Provide technical guidance to the universitys leadership on civil engineering matters.

Required Qualifications:

• Educational Qualification:
• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech).
• M.Tech / MBA (Operations) desirable
• Experience:
• 8 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in managing infrastructure projects for educational institutions or large campuses.
