Key Responsibilities :
Test Planning & Strategy :
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to define test objectives and scope.
- Create detailed and structured test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Identify and manage test data requirements to support comprehensive testing.
Test Execution :
- Conduct functional, integration, system, smoke, and regression testing across web, mobile, and desktop platforms.
- Validate user interfaces (UI), workflows, and backend functionalities to ensure they meet design specifications.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing to ensure consistent performance.
- Execute boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and negative test cases to identify hidden issues.
Defect Management :
- Identify, log, and prioritize defects using defect management tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Trello.
- Collaborate with development teams to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
Documentation & Reporting :
- Maintain detailed test case documentation, test results, and defect logs for traceability.
- Prepare and present testing progress reports, defect metrics, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
- Document testing best practices and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Collaboration :
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and UX designers to ensure quality at every stage of the SDLC.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews in Agile environments.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by collaborating with end-users and addressing their feedback.
Skills and Competencies :
Technical Skills :
- Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies and test case design techniques.
- Proficient in defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or qTest.
- Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
- Hands-on experience with SQL for database testing (i.e., data validation and query execution).
- Familiarity with browser developer tools for debugging and performance monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of automation testing concepts (i.e., Selenium or Cypress) is a plus.
Domain-Specific Skills :
- Experience with e-commerce, banking, healthcare, or SaaS applications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing (WCAG compliance) and localization testing is advantageous.
Soft Skills :
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify edge cases and potential issues.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to issue identification and resolution.
Additional Skills (Good to Have) :
- Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Understanding of version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-6 years of professional experience in manual testing roles, with exposure to diverse projects and technologies
