Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL Server to support our database migration efforts. The ideal candidate will have handson experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex queries. This role requires proficiency in both TSQL and PL/pgSQL, along with a deep understanding of query optimization and performance tuning. This role involves converting database objects from SQL Server to PostgreSQL and ensuring efficient and optimized database operations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Migrate database components from SQL Server to PostgreSQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex queries.

Rewrite and optimize SQL Server code to ensure efficiency and performance in PostgreSQL.

Implement equivalent PostgreSQL features and ensure smooth functionality postmigration.

Optimize queries, indexes, and database performance to enhance efficiency.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database migration and performance.

Mandatory skill sets

Strong handson experience with PostgreSQL development.

Proficiency in writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers in PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

Expertise in TSQL and PL/pgSQL programming.

Extensive experience in query optimization and performance tuning.

Proven experience in converting database objects from SQL Server to PostgreSQL.

Ability to analyze and rewrite complex queries efficiently.

Strong problemsolving and debugging skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred skill sets

Experience working on largescale database migrations.

Familiarity with cloudbased database solutions.

Knowledge of database security best practices.

Years of experience required

5 to 8 years
