Job Description

The Correspondence Router is responsible for processing incoming customer inquiries / complaints, including categorizing the correspondence, updating loan data, and opening MSP tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Processes and reviews all incoming borrower, attorney, and authorized third party inquiries and complaints
Enters root cause codes for all correspondence to easily identify any possible trends
Opens MSP tasks for Payoff and Reinstatement Quotes requests
Updates accounts with any applicable codes to suppress credit reporting for payment disputes
Sends initial Investor letter for any QWR request
Completes Verification of Mortgage Requests
Conducts general research including, but not limited to, verifying loan data such as payments posted, ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) adjustments, escrow disbursements, escrow analysis and loan balance information.
Generates response letters in accordance with RESPA (Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act) /CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) related to general inquiries, including but not limited to, payment disputes, VOMs, name changes, website issues, verbal requests, etc.
Utilizes knowledge of mortgage loan documentation and escrow; RESPA and FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act).
Categorizes incoming correspondence and follow established assignment / escalations process.
Assists with special projects, including audit requests

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to three years experience required.

Language Ability: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Previous experience with Black Knight/LPS and Fiserv preferred.
