Job Description
The BI Developer will have outstanding business experience, acumen, and focus on providing reports, analysis, and interpretation of performance metrics to inform business insights. This role will support multiple departments across the company with tabular model and dashboard development, be the hub for analytics/reports requirements and backend data requirements/needs, and address data and analytics/reports issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Monitoring data collection and ensuring data is being correctly gathered, stored, and analyzed
Working with systems and data engineers, source existing data to develop reports, or, in the event of nonexistent data, identify root source systems in which necessary data resides
Working with department heads to gather reporting requirements and building reports in PowerBI, Excel, and other analyst/reporting tools
Developing and maintaining tabular models
Manage relationships and time between projects and product owners while effectively communicating progress, obstacles, change of course, etc., as dictated by reporting dependencies and needs of the business
Make technological adjustments to BI & Analytics tools/platforms to improve their performance
Acting as a liaison between the business and data engineer and IT team
Propose reporting automation solution depending on business needs
Ad-hoc requests
Job Requirement
Desired Skills & Qualifications
High degree of proficiency with Power BI, including administration
Background with other BI tools (Tableau or Power BI)
Fundamental understanding of systems and data architecture
Strong SQL programming skills, including the use of SQL analytic functions and stored procedure development and maintenance
Strong Excel experience (sumif, offset, vlookup, pivot tables)
Comfortable working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional projects; strong communication and collaboration skills
Excellent organizational skills to manage priorities
Well-organized, adaptable, and a clear thinker
Requirements
3+ years of experience building and maintaining dashboards, analysis, reports, etc.
