Senior Business Analyst Utility Billing Software

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst/Product Analyst with deep domain expertise in Utility Billing software products and services. In this role, you will drive the successful development and delivery of a cloud-based Utility Billing System, working closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable requirements.

Responsibilities

• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with the senior product manager to lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Develop well-defined user stories, business cases, and detailed documentation for the development team and other stakeholders.
• Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer expectations to ensure the product remains competitive and relevant.
• Product Backlog Management: Develop and maintain the product backlog, ensuring all features and enhancements are clearly prioritized and aligned with business goals.
• UI/UX Collaboration: Partner with the UI/UX team to design mockups and prototypes. Gather stakeholder feedback to finalize designs before development begins.
• Agile Development: Actively contribute as part of an agile development team, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Stakeholder Communication: Use a structured approach to elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and manage requirements with stakeholders. Employ various elicitation techniques to understand and challenge requirements effectively.
• Documentation: Create detailed artifacts such as use cases, wireframes, process flows, and user stories. Ensure comprehensive documentation to maintain clear communication across teams.
• Requirements Traceability: Establish and maintain full traceability of requirements, managing scope changes while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with Technology Partners: Work with development and testing teams to support the creation of system requirements, design plans, and test artifacts to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Issue Resolution: Identify potential issues early, escalate when necessary, and provide recommendations for prompt resolution.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Coordinate UAT to validate deliverables against business requirements and ensure high-quality standards.
• Lifecycle Support: Provide ongoing support to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Business Analyst in software development, specifically for Utility Billing software products and services.
• Domain Knowledge : Proven experience with CIS/Utility Billing software (e.g., water, electric, gas, or sewer systems), meter reading, or government ERP applications, particularly in the USA market.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or similar.
• Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in an agile development environment.
• Technical Collaboration: Ability to work closely with technology teams to ensure alignment of business needs with system design and testing.
• Desirable Skills: Experience with wireframing and mockup tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD) and familiarity with structured documentation tools like Confluence or Jira is a plus.
