Product Owner

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced product owner to guide the technical implementation and overall commercial success of the productised service to address specific customer segment needs. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical requirements of the productised service, understanding the business needs, and working closely with cross-functional development teams including the off-shore development teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality technology enabled services that meet customer needs. In addition, this role will work closely with the Business Owner, Product Managers and scrum teams to understand the business needs and commercial drivers and ensure technical solutions are appropriate.

Responsibilities:

1. Collect business requirements from the Business Owner and operational teams. Articulate the strategy for the technical elements of the service.

2. Create clear user stories to enable development teams to deliver the capabilities.

3. Manage and maintain the requirements, prioritising items based on business value, programme, and customer needs.

4. Align to the roadmaps of other RWS commercial and business applications, and of the wider programme.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical delivery to ensure alignment with the project vision and objectives.

6. Act as a liaison between stakeholders and e.g. development teams, product owners facilitating communication and decision-making.

7. Leverage customer feedback and analytics data to inform iterative releases and enhancements.

8. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends to guide product development.

9. Regularly review product performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.

10. Work closely with Product Managers and project managers to deliver complex projects.

Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

2. Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role in a technology or translation services environment, delivering customer facing solutions. This may include as a business analyst delivering requirements for complex technical solutions.

3. Strong knowledge of Agile principles and practices.

4. Familiarity with delivery of web-based products, integrations, and workflow/ similar systems.

5. Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset, with experience of using data to support decisions.

6. Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

7. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.

8. Experience of working with remote and offshore teams.

Nice to have:

1. Building and realising ecommerce offerings, web experience, crowd-based supply chain, self-service, process optimisation.

2. Experience blending portal experiences and integrating with back-end ERP or CRM platforms.

3. Certification as a Product Owner or in Agile methodologies.
