Job Summary of CAE And Powertrain Integration
You will work towards performing complex design analysis using CAE to support engineering design function, understand customer requirements and expectation for new product design and suggest alternate improved design to resolve any challenges and will drive and lead the team towards accurate and efficient design and integration of systems including Engine cooling system, Engine mounting system, Exhaust integration, Fuel system and its auxiliaries and Air intake system
CAE And Powertrain Integration Manager Key Deliverables
Leading the virtual analyses team to meet performance targets at component, sub assembly and vehicle level
Leading and support teams by providing technical support for durability, linear and non-linear analysis.
Interacting with various design and testing teams for understating requirements and providing proactive feedback which supports CAE driven vehicle development.
Developing performance attribute targets from components to full vehicle level and participate in benchmarking activities supporting target setting.
Ensuring the CAE tasks are conducted as per approved product development time line and support in meeting performance target (weight and other attributes) by best use of optimization technique.
Understanding customers basic requirements and expectations for new product design and perform complex design analysis using CAE.
Participating in design review meetings to provide appropriate recommendations and timely design guidance to support the team in meeting customer requirements.
Providing engineering solutions for complex problems by developing quick alternative improved designs.
Maintaining records of all activities and results in CAE project database.
Ensuring that all work carried out is in compliance with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards
Formulating the loading conditions and validation acceptance criteria for sub-systems, systems and vehicle levels
Continuously improving the quality of virtual validation in comparison and physical validation
Creating a roadmap for the complete vehicle virtual validation
Defining the Design Validation Plan (DVP) and acceptance criteria for the systems at component and vehicle level
Coordinating with internal stake holders for building the prototypes, testing, homologation and other related activities
Working continuously on value engineering proposals for the systems and their components to achieve the cost target
Performing activities to ensure the design quality and BOM quality and aid in the product life cycle management for the designated systems
Directing the team to design and integrate Engine cooling system including selection of cooling system and integration on the vehicles for Petrol, Diesel, CNG and LPG vehicles and to ensure the cooling performance of overall powertrain as per the acceptance criteria
Guiding the team to carry out activities related to Engine mounting system including designing the engine suspension system to meet the vehicle level noise and vibration level requirements along with life target for Petrol, Diesel, CNG and LPG powered vehicles.
Executing activities to carry out 6 DOF analysis independently
Carrying out the Exhaust integration on the vehicle while considering the NVH, performance, cost and life requirements
Ability to establish a systematic course of action for self or others to ensure successful project completion including determining priorities and allocating time and resources effectively.
Ability to achieve results against an internal and external standard of excellence, showing a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to supervise a complex task by breaking it down into manageable parts in a systematic way, work logically to resolve problems and further identifies causes and anticipate implications
Anticipating potential obstacles and develops contingency plans to overcome them.
Ability to improve the immediate performance of others and facilitate their skill development by providing behaviorally specific performance feedback
Generates novel and valuable ideas and uses these ideas to develop new or improved processes, methods, systems, products or services.
Possess strong technical knowledge to provide sound and insightful recommendations in area of expertise
Focuses ones efforts on discovering and meeting internal and external customers’ needs in a manner that provides satisfaction for the customer within the resources available
Accuracy in Virtual analysis of full vehicle component.
Developing designs to meet customer requirements and market trends
Comprehensive and robust design solution for complex problems
Qualification and Work Experience
M.E /M- Tech or B.E /B –Tech (Automobile/ Mechanical) Desired Qualification
Work Experience of 10 years of experience in the industry Preferred Industry Experience Automobile and Auto Ancillary companies.
Experience in automotive modelling and CAE for Automotive. Preferred Technical Skills and Certification
Hands on experience on Hyper Mesh, OptiStruct, MSC Nastran, Fatigue Analysis.
CAD Software knowledge, FEMFAT Software, OptiStruct Optimization, Manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of Automobile Mechanics, Material Science, FEA, Engineering Mechanics.
