Deputy Manager - Tool Room and Press Tools (Sheet Metal)

Role Purpose:

Lead production Team Leaders & the blue collar employees to execute the production as per the monthly targets and metrics.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands on experience in manufacturing of appliances, electronics, electrical or similar industries.
• Experience of 4M, sheet metal production process, efficiency, capacity utilization, Automation & Industrial engineering and lean manufacturing.
• Planning 3 shifts
• Tool room management (Procurements / manufacturing / maintenance)
• Tool design & Development o Tool life / performance tracking, troubleshooting & preventive action
• Spare readiness & risk mitigation management
• Jigs & fixtures manufacturing
• Productivity related tools application on lean concepts
• Cost Spare cost spending optimization / handling budgets
• Experience in Selection of materials for Punch / die for SS / MS sheet application
• Raw Material (sheet metal SS & MS) knowledge
• Role forming / hemming / progressive tool design
• Press knowledge (mechanical / hydraulic / Role forming)
• Welding Spot / Tig
• Press & piercing tool ( Understand basic tool diagrams / load limits / selection purpose  Ideas about - Deep draw / forming / bending  CAD expert level)
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Hands on experience in sheet metal processing, Presses and assembly lines in Labour intensive manufacturing environment.

Role & responsibilities:

• Design and execute safe work practices, procedures to maintain an accident & incident free environment.
• Execute Tool development and maintenance against the schedule
• Handling entire tool room activities
• Ensure safe work environment through implementation of safety awareness programs.
• Introduce new procedures and processes to improve Teams productivity, morale and efficiency.
• Interpret and develop reports including standard operating procedures.
• Enforce 6s, Lean manufacturing , Kaizen / suggestion scheme, Poka-Yoke for continual improvement.
• Adherence of various systems & documentation requirements of the Company.
• Plan and optimize the utilization levels at its best (Man, material etc) to achieve the cost.
• Stakeholder Management with Production, Maintenance and other teams
• Basic Troubleshooting of Presses, Sheet metal operational machines

Key deliverables for the role:

• KPI related to Tool Room - New tool development on time, Tooling maintenance against the requirement, MTBF,MTTR for Tool down, Critical Spares Management
• Uptime of the Main line w.r.to Tools
