Job Description

Role & responsibilities



  1. Recruitment and Staffing:
    • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for plant roles, including screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
    • Ensure the plant is staffed with the right talent to meet operational requirements.
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, ensuring prompt resolution.
    • Promote a culture of collaboration, respect, and inclusivity within the plant.
  3. Compliance and Statutory Requirements:
    • Ensure adherence to labor laws, industrial regulations, and company policies.
    • Handle compliance with statutory requirements such as PF, ESI, gratuity, etc.
  4. Training and Development:
    • Assess training needs and design development programs for plant employees.
    • Drive initiatives to upskill the workforce and enhance operational efficiency.
  5. Attendance and Payroll Management:
    • Oversee attendance tracking, leave management, and shift planning.
    • Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely salary disbursement.
  6. Performance Management:
    • Facilitate performance appraisals and ensure alignment with company goals.
    • Develop and implement performance improvement plans when required.
  7. Health and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across the plant.
    • Collaborate with the safety team to promote employee well-being and accident prevention.
  8. Industrial Relations:
    • Maintain a harmonious relationship with labor unions and handle negotiations.
    • Address any industrial disputes and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
  9. Employee Engagement:
    • Plan and execute employee engagement activities to enhance morale and productivity.
    • Conduct regular feedback sessions to identify employee concerns and areas for improvement.
  10. HR Metrics and Reporting:
    • Maintain HR dashboards and provide insights to senior management.
    • Prepare monthly reports on headcount, attrition, and other HR-related metrics.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • MBA/PGDM/MSW in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in HR, preferably in a plant or manufacturing setup.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliance, and industrial relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in HRMS tools and Microsoft Office.


Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience managing HR operations in a unionized environment.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
