Data Governance Technical Lead IND

1. Job Purpose

The role holder will be responsible for implementing the Data Governance Framework across the bank, to support a culture of good data management throughout all aspects of the bank.

The key purpose of this role is to provide technical expertise in implementing Data Governance initiatives such as Data Lineage, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Profiling and to support the Group in meeting the obligations of its data policies and standards.  The lead will be the SME to drive the implementation and development of Data Governance tools and solutions – Informatica CDGC, IDMC, which support the data owners and/or steward community across the group in evidencing compliance with the data policies.

The role holder will also be expected to engage with the business and Data Engineering teams on any data management related matters if required, and build relationships with Data Stewards, including presenting Data lineage, Data Profiling content at any relevant meetings or working groups.

1. Core Responsibilities

• Primary SME for the Operational Data Governance Manager in implementing Data Governance initiatives; working to continuously improve these within in the Group across all data types; focusing on demonstrable value back to the business.
• Drive technical implementation of Data Governance tools and features using Informatica CDGC, IDMC, IICS and other related modules.
• Responsible for design and development of Informatica modules to obtain scan results related to data Lineage, Data Quality and maintain MDM.
• Support the Data Governance manager to address any gaps in building data lineage using bespoke scripts.
• Assist with the delivery of the Data Governance responsibilities (data classifications, glossaries, taxonomies) across the Group.
• Be a champion for Data Governance and the best use of our Group data resources in support of business objectives.
• Provide technical design reviews for small projects within the Data Governance function.
• Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Risk Management Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do.
• Proactively identify improvements to data operations processes and systems, promoting Data Governance by design.
• Support the Operational Data Governance Manager to develop and deliver training resources. (promote data literacy across the group)
• Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Data Governance Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day-to-day work that you treat data as an important corporate asset which must be protected and managed.
• Maintain the company’s compliance standards and ensure timely completion of all mandatory on-line training modules and attestations. Manage the Data Quality standards across the Group ensuring data used in business processes is efficiently, effectively and correctly captured, processed, stored and disposed of throughout the data lifecycle that is also in alignment with regulatory requirements.

1. Experience Requirements

• 8+ years of strong experience of data governance / management related technical activities e.g. Developing Data catalogue, Master Data Management, Data lineage, Data Quality, EUC management, data ownership, data profiling.
• Strong experience working on Informatica tools/features, such as CDGC, IDMC, IICS, IDQ and marketplace. 
• Experience in designing and implementing solutions and processes around data lineage, data profiling, data quality and master data management.
• Experience of SQL, Data warehousing, Azure Data services is essential
• Experience of stakeholder management is essential
• Experience delivering dashboards and reports using Power BI is desirable.
• Experience in Financial Services is desirable.

1. Knowledge Requirements

• Knowledge of regulatory data governance requirements is essential.
• Understanding of data governance analysis, standards and reporting is essential.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse, understand, and explain complex requirements is essential.
• Awareness of the principles of the development lifecycle is essential.
• Awareness of Informatica tools such as marketplace is desirable.

1. Required Qualifications/Certifications

• A university degree in a quantitative field (i.e. Engineering or Mathematics) is essential.

1. Responsibilities re Information Security Management System (as per ISO 27001 Certification Requirements)

• Ensure strict adherence to company’s security policies and procedures (for ex: Password policy, clear screen and clear desk policy, etc.)
• Take ownership of all the assets/information assigned and secure it in compliance with ISO 27001 standard implemented in the company.
• Co-operate and co-ordinate for the internal audits conducted in the company (complying to ISO 27001 standard).
• Report to the Incident Response Manager, any incidents you come across in the office with regard to Security threats like threats to physical asset & stored information or any risks detrimental to the Security Policies of the company, etc.,.
• Responsible to supervise in ensuring that all personnel reporting to you shall observe all Security requirements and be appropriately trained in Security.
