Server Administrator

Experience: 6-10 years

Location: Noida (preferred)/ Pune

Key Responsibilities:

• Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, including Windows and Linux environments.
• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance and ensure the uptime, availability, and reliability of servers and services.
• Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage regular server backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
• Security: Perform regular security audits and updates, including patch management, firewall configurations, and intrusion detection/prevention.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve server issues and provide technical support for system users.
• System Updates & Maintenance: Regularly apply patches, security updates, and service packs to ensure server health and security.
• Configuration Management: Configure and optimize server settings for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate documentation for server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, software developers, and other IT staff to ensure proper integration and functioning of systems.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor system growth and help plan for future infrastructure needs, ensuring servers are scaled appropriately.
• Compliance: Ensure servers meet all regulatory and compliance requirements, including but not limited to data privacy and security standards.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
• Experience with backup solutions (Commvault, Veeam, Acronis, etc.) and disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Ngnix server and container
• Strong Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
• Familiarity with server monitoring tools and systems (Nagios, Zabbix, or similar).
• Experience in managing firewalls, security protocols, and encryption techniques.
• Basic scripting knowledge of PowerShell, Bash and Linux Shell for automation of administrative tasks.

• Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC).
• ITIL certification or knowledge is a plus.
