HSE Safety Officer / Engineer

Job Summary: The HSE Officer/Engineer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthful work environment for all stakeholders, contractors, clients, and the general public. This role involves implementing HSE procedures, developing site-specific safety plans, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe Work Environment: Provide a safe and healthful work environment for Omkar stakeholders, contractors, clients, and the general public.
• HSE Procedure Implementation: Implement Omkar's HSE procedures and processes effectively across all projects.
• Client Engagement: Meet with clients to discuss and understand their HSE requirements and expectations.
• Site-Specific HSE Planning: Develop site-specific HSE plans, including comprehensive Risk Assessments and Safe Plans of Action.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all contractors comply with Omkar's HSE programs and site-specific plans.
• Task Planning: Plan each task by developing Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Safe Plans of Action.
• Orientation and Training: Ensure HSE orientation for all personnel and facilitate Tool Box Talk meetings.
• Safety Observations: Conduct HSE observations, prepare Safety Observation Reports, and take necessary corrective actions.
• Contractor Support: Assist contractors' safety personnel in conducting training, program development, and procedure writing.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate contractors' HSE programs and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits and health and safety inspections of contractors, coordinating incident management processes.
• Training and Inspections: Plan and schedule training requirements and periodic inspections, conducting these in line with HSE requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is a plus.
• Proven experience in HSE management or a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
