Asst. Structural Engineer Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination with Structural Consultants:
• Collaborate with structural consultants to ensure the best engineering practices, conduct stringent design reviews, and ensure timely deliverables.
• Ensure smooth information flow and maintain a proactive role in starting and finishing tasks as per project timelines.

• Cross-functional Interaction:
• Engage and coordinate with architects, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), cost management, procurement, liaisons, budgeting, scheduling, and strategy teams to align project objectives and timelines.

• Value Engineering:
• Develop and implement effective value engineering processes, explore cost-effective design alternatives, and implement the most optimal solutions without compromising quality.

• Design Review and Analysis:
• Review Design Basis Reports (DBR) and analyze structural files using ETABS, SAFE, StaadPro, SAP, geotechnical investigation reports, wind engineering data, and structural calculations.
• Conduct detailed analysis of design drawings and reports provided by structural consultants to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

• Design Oversight:
• Oversee and review designs submitted by the main structural consultant in coordination with peer review consultants, ensuring thorough evaluation and approval.

• AutoCAD Drawing Development:
• Create and design AutoCAD drawings for smaller structures and enabling works as required for on-site execution.

• Construction Advisory:
• Provide technical advice on construction sequencing, phasing/pouring plans, construction joints, excavation sequencing, and retrofitting challenges.
• Ensure the timely availability and accuracy of structural drawings to support construction activities.

• Construction Issue Resolution:
• Address and resolve on-site construction-related issues such as formwork/shuttering problems, providing necessary drawings and technical solutions to avoid workflow disruptions.

• On-site Decision Making:
• Provide real-time, practical solutions on-site that adhere to structural design norms, codes, and specifications to keep the project moving forward efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters preferred).
• Proven experience in structural design and engineering, including the use of software like ETABS, SAFE, StaadPro, and SAP.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other structural design software.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to collaborate effectively with consultants and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, informed decisions in the field.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality engineering standards.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in value engineering and optimization of structural designs.
• Experience working with complex infrastructure projects, including high-rise buildings, bridges, or large-scale industrial structures.
