Okta - Technical Program Manager - Agile Methodologies (5-7 yrs)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Technical Program Manager to join our dynamic Engineering team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the successful execution of complex engineering projects.

You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and other cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Planning & Execution :

- Define project scope, goals, and objectives.

- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.

- Track project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.

- Run scrum meetings, manage backlogs, and drive releases.

Stakeholder Management :

- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Design, and other departments.

- Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and resolve dependencies.

Process Improvement :

- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

- Contribute to the development and refinement of Agile methodologies within the Engineering team.

Technical Understanding :

- Demonstrate a strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

- Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts and challenges related to software development.

- Experience working with engineering teams on complex projects involving technologies such as [List relevant technologies, e.g. , cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), big data, microservices, AI/ML, etc.

Data Analysis & Reporting :

- Track project metrics, analyze project performance, and generate reports to communicate progress and identify areas for improvement.

- Utilize project management tools (e.g. , Jira) to effectively manage projects and track progress.

Qualifications & Experience :

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience : 5-7 years of experience in Technical Program Management within a software development environment.

Technical Skills :

- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

- Experience with project management tools like Jira, Asana, or Monday.com.

- Basic understanding of software development technologies and concepts, including [List relevant technologies, e.g. , cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), big data, microservices, AI/ML, etc.
