Direct Tax Manager

Role & responsibilities::

• Identity potential areas of tax planning/saving based on activities in various functions of the company, study the same and then discuss with N+1/consultants for further course of action.
• Business process monitoring and implementing improvements/ changes to ensure minimization of tax exposures (e.g. improvement of TDS processes in ERP, accounting for capital receipts, accounting for tax holidays etc.)
• Developing and recommending a detailed tax plan for the year and implementing the same.
• Ensuring timely adherence to the tax calendar for the year to ensure 100% compliance with
  statutory laws and regulations:
• Quarterly compliance with advance tax provisions
• Monthly and quarterly compliance with payment of TDS and TDS returns
• Annual compliance with filing income tax return
• Coordination with various stakeholders for finalizing tax audit report.
• Monthly litigation report.
• Close co-ordination with Financial Accounting team and resolution of all tax related issues with statutory auditors for finalization of annual accounts and annual statutory tax audits.
• Closely work with consultants on all assessments u/s 143, 154, 148 etc., for quarterly discussions on advance tax and for handling, attending hearings and closing the matters.
• Closely work with consultants for transfer pricing assessment u/s 92, attending hearings and briefing consultants on appropriate submissions to be made and closing TP assessments.
• Actively working on and coordinating on preparation of submissions, paper books, and strategy for hearings at appellate levels of CIT(A), DRP and ITAT attending and defending the company's positions at appellate levels along with consultants and counsels.
• Interaction with central and plant Accounts teams to ensure robust documentation for tax claims.
• Ensuring that there is no lapse in procedural aspects of the appellate process like timely filing of appeals, applying for rectification orders, applying for Order Giving Effect (OGEs), filing for stay applications, etc.
• Ensuring accurate and timely replies, in co-ordination with SSC and plants (where applicable) to various notices from the Income Tax department (e.g. u/s 133)
• Get the Tax refunds approved and disbursed in quick time.

Preferred candidate profile

• A qualified CA with 7+ Years of experience in Direct Taxation.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred.
