Senior QA/Tester Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough manual testing to identify functional defects, user interface issues, and inconsistencies across software applications.
• Design, implement, and execute load and performance tests to assess application scalability, responsiveness, and resource utilization under heavy traffic conditions.
• Conduct security testing to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the software. Perform penetration testing, security scans, and other security-related assessments.
• Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Work with developers to replicate and troubleshoot issues, providing clear and concise defect reports.
• Review requirements and collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to ensure that test coverage meets business objectives and user expectations.
• Continuously identify and implement improvements to testing processes and practices to improve efficiency and test coverage.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge- sharing environment.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure quality is embedded in all stages of the development process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a focus on Manual Testing, Load Testing, Performance Testing, and Security Testing.
• Strong experience with manual testing techniques, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Expertise in Load Testing using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
• Expertise in Performance Testing and tools such as JMeter, Gatling.
• Experience with Security Testing tools like OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or other penetration testing tools.
• Solid understanding of performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and how to identify and mitigate them.
• Familiarity with web security concepts, including OWASP Top 10, and the ability to identify security risks such as SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, etc.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases and writing complex queries to validate data.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify, isolate, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Strong documentation skills and the ability to create clear, concise test documentation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Skills:

• Manual Testing: Functional testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Performance & Load Testing: Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, or other performance testing tools.
• Security Testing: OWASP, ZAP, Burp Suite, or other security testing tools.
• Scripting: Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation.
• Version Control: Git, SVN.
• Databases: Strong SQL skills for database validation and data-driven testing.
