Assistant Manager - Machine Shop

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager - Machine Shop to oversee the efficient functioning of our machining processes, including the machining of castings, rounds, and pipes using advanced CNC and VMC machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in machining, programming, and quality improvement initiatives. They will also play a critical role in achieving production and quality targets while driving continuous process improvements.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Machining Operations:

Oversee various machining processes, including machining of castings, rounds, and pipes.

Operate and program advanced CNC, VMC, CNC Turning, and VTL machines with controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, and Mazatrol.

Troubleshoot day-to-day machining issues to meet production and quality targets.

2.Process Optimization:

Implement process upgrades to improve product quality and system efficiency.

Monitor and improve the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of machines.

Evaluate machine capabilities using CP and CPK analysis.

3.Quality Assurance:

Develop and implement quality assurance techniques and procedures for production. Consolidate and analyze rejection and rework data to identify areas for improvement.

Create and maintain PFMEA, control plans, and documentation for quality processes.

4.Continuous Improvement:

Drive Kaizen initiatives, Poka-Yoke implementation, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Improve cutting tool life through monitoring and optimization.

5.Fixture and Maintenance Management:

Manage maintenance, upgrades, and setup changes for machining fixtures.

Support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities and foster a strong 5S culture.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CNC programming for Fanuc, Siemens, and Mazatrol controls.

Experience with CNC, VMC, CNC Turning, and VTL machines.

Knowledge of machining processes, including machining castings, rounds and pipes.

Familiarity with quality tools such as PFMEA, Kaizen, and poka-yoke.
