Assistant Manager - Forge Shop

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Assistant Manager - Forge Shop to oversee and manage the operations of our forging facility, which includes 1-ton hammers, screw presses, hydraulic and pneumatic presses, and heat treatment processes such as tempering, quenching, and normalizing. The role involves production planning, quality assurance, and effective manpower management to achieve operational excellence while maintaining highquality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Forge Shop Operations:

Manage and operate forging equipment, including 1-ton hammers, screw presses, and hydraulic and pneumatic presses.

Oversee heat treatment processes such as tempering, quenching, and normalizing to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Ensure smooth execution of forging operations, including first setup die and initial production part checks with gauges and quality control.

Apply expertise in blank forging of gears, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.

2.Production Planning and Scheduling:

Plan and schedule production activities to meet delivery timelines and production targets. Monitor and optimize production schedules to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime. Ensure data entry and tracking of production details in SAP S4 Hana.

3.Manpower and Resource Management:

Supervise and manage a team of 20+ contractual workers and staff, ensuring effective workforce utilization.

Provide training and guidance to workers to maintain productivity and adherence to quality standards.

4.Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with the QC department to implement and maintain quality systems.

Monitor production output to ensure adherence to quality specifications and rectify deviations.

5.Maintenance and Inventory Management:

Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of forging equipment to minimize breakdowns and enhance reliability.

Manage inventory levels of tools, dies, and consumables, ensuring availability for uninterrupted production.

6.Continuous Improvement:

Drive process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.

Implement best practices in forging and heat treatment operations.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in operating and managing forging equipment and heat treatment processes.

Strong understanding of quality control procedures and tools.

In-depth knowledge of blank forging of gears and related technical processes.

Additional Competencies:

Proficiency in SAP S4 Hana for production data entry and monitoring.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Familiarity with maintenance practices for forging equipment
