Master s degree in Rural Development, Social Work, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Fisheries, or any other equivalent discipline.
8 to 10 years of experience in livelihood promotion, community based conservation, or sustainable development projects, preferably in a coastal or mangrove ecosystems.
Strong knowledge of sustainable livelihood practices, micro enterprise development, and rural economy dynamics.
Experience in project management, budget handling, and team leadership.
Familiarity with National and Global frameworks/guidelines in livelihood and climate resilient development.
Proficiency in English and Bengali.
Other Eligibility criteria:
Two wheeler driving skills will be an added advantage.
Scope of Work:
Livelihood Promotion:
Design and implement sustainable livelihood strategies for the communities in the Sundarban region.
Develop community based livelihood models integrating agriculture, aquaculture, animal husbandry, apiculture, and eco friendly enterprises.
Promote value added activities and market linkages for rural products.
Integrated Farming Systems (IFS):
Support diversified farming practices combining aquaculture, agriculture, apiculture, and backyard poultry farming (BYPF).
Impart technical training and provide guidance to farmers for improved productivity.
Homestay Tourism Development:
Develop and support community based homestay tourism initiatives to generate alternative income sources.
Ensure eco tourism activities aligned with conservation goals and enhance local participation.
Group Livelihood Plans:
Facilitate the formation and strengthening of community groups for livelihood activities.
Guide groups in enterprise development and establishing market connections.
Training and Capacity Building:
Develop training modules on sustainable livelihood practices and environmental conservation.
Conduct workshops and hands on training for community empowerment.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with local communities, PRIs, Government bodies, and NGOs to implement sustainable livelihood models.
Conduct outreach and awareness programs focusing on sustainable practices.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international guidelines related to livelihood and conservation projects.
Advocate for policies supporting sustainable community development.
Emergency Response:
Develop strategies for livelihood restoration in disaster prone areas.
Coordinate with authorities for emergency preparedness and response.
