Location: Mayiladuthurai Coastal District, Tamil Nadu
Qualifications:
Postgraduate degree in Social Work (MSW), Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management, Sustainable Development, or related fields.
Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis software. Fluency in English and Tamil (reading, writing, and speaking).
2-3 years of post-qualification experience in implementing Mangrove-based projects and community-focused initiatives.
Experience conducting Community Resilience Assessments in relation to environmental factors and biodiversity conservation.
Scope of Work:
Work closely with the mangrove conservation project, ensuring livelihood activities are aligned with environmental sustainability.
Coordinate with local communities, especially farmers and fishers, to implement livelihood strategies that support the restoration and protection of mangrove ecosystems.
Design and implement capacity-building programs related to sustainable livelihoods, natural resource management, and biodiversity conservation, with a focus on mangroves.
Collaborate with community workers, project managers, and local stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices in mangrove-dependent livelihoods.
Assist in forming and strengthening community institutions such as Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) involved in the mangrove project.
Monitor and facilitate the implementation of eco-friendly livelihood activities, including sustainable agriculture, aquaculture, and ecotourism, that support mangrove conservation.
Facilitate workshops, training programs, and community meetings on mangroverelated livelihoods.
Document the progress of the mangrove project, including the impact on community livelihoods, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting related to livelihood improvements through mangrove ecosystem services.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the mangrove project
Skills Required:
Knowledge and experience in livelihood models in rural settings, including leading teams.
Experience working with various line departments and implementing programs under the convergence model.
Experience working with communities, SHGs, and community institutions.
Willingness to travel extensively in remote areas.
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Ability to deliver results under pressure and work with internal and external stakeholders, including government.
Experience in identifying and promoting best practices in livelihood-based projects.

Benefits:
Gross Salary: 20,000- 25,000/ per month (depending on qualifications and experience).
Contract Period: Initially 1 year (extendable based on performance).
