AWS Cloud Engineer - Ansible/Terraform (5-8 yrs)

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

- Design and implement robust and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging services like EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and others.

- Deploy, manage, and maintain highly available and secure EKS clusters, including worker node management, scaling, and upgrades.

- Implement and manage Istio service mesh for traffic management, security, and observability within the EKS environment.

- Configure routing, fault injection, and other Istio features.

- Implement and manage autoscaling solutions using Karpenter and other tools to optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency within EKS.

- Deep understanding of EKS networking concepts, including CNI plugins, VPC networking, security groups, and network policies.

- Implement and maintain security best practices for EKS, including pod security policies, RBAC, and network segmentation.

- Design and implement network security measures, including security groups, Network ACLs, AWS Shield, and Web Application Firewall (WAF).

- Experience with Direct Connect and Transit Gateway for hybrid cloud connectivity.

- Implement perimeter security solutions.

- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, ensuring infrastructure consistency, repeatability, and version control.

- Automate system configuration and management tasks using Ansible, including software installation, patching, and configuration updates.

- Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of the cloud infrastructure.

- Utilize tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.

- Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.

- Participate in on-call rotations as needed.

- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth and efficient cloud operations.

- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS technologies and best practices.

- Identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization and automation.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- 5+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering.

- Deep understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.

- Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration using EKS.

- Strong experience with Istio service mesh.

- Experience with Karpenter autoscaling.

- Solid understanding of EKS networking and security best practices.

- Expertise in network security concepts and tools (security groups, NACLs, WAF, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway).

- Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.

- Strong experience with configuration management using Ansible.

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills
