Consultant Logistics Executive-DPIIT

Role & responsibilities:

• Possess in-depth knowledge of logistics planning, international trade regulations, policies, and procedures; manage market inquiries (RFQ).
• Coordinate effectively across multiple internal Divisions and external Ministries/Departments/Agencies to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of equipment, materials, and resources.
• Oversee the end-to-end management of agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, timelines, and deliverables.
• Stay updated on relevant legislative developments, inform management of regulatory changes, and assess their implications for ongoing and future operations.
• Analyse logistics-related data and serve as a Logistics Analyst to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in formulating strategies for logistics operations, supporting the Ministry of Commerces initiatives to optimize processes and achieve strategic goals.
• Collect and consolidate data from administrative and operational units at regular intervals to monitor the progress of activities and initiatives.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of Management Information Systems (MIS) to generate actionable insights and reports.
• Documenting the processes comprehensively to ensure standardized workflows and maintain operational clarity.
• Leverage hands-on experience in process implementation to drive the successful execution of logistics projects and programs.
• Assist the functional Heads in developing white papers, concept notes, thought leadership material, project reports and other material aimed at enhancing the degree of understanding between the Ministry and other stake holders.
• Collaborate with management to prioritize business and data requirements to improve decision-making processes.
• Prepare and deliver monthly reports for senior leadership, outlining progress, key performance indicators, and areas requiring attention.

Preferred candidate profile:

1. Knowledge and Skills:
• Sound understanding of international trade laws, customs regulations, and logistics policies.
• Proficiency in handling Requests for Quotations (RFQs), negotiations, and freight forwarder management.
• Strong skills in data analysis and working with Management Information Systems (MIS).
• Knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations, including documentation, compliance, and process implementation.
• Demonstrated experience in handling contracts, agreements, and liaising with Government authorities.
• Proven expertise in managing large-scale logistics projects, analyzing data, and implementing process improvements.
• Prior experience working with Government bodies or Ministries in logistics or trade-related projects will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in developing white papers, concept notes, and strategy documents will be an advantage.

2. Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with logistics management systems and e-Governance platforms is desirable.

3. Communication and Coordination:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
