1. Design and Coordination:

• Mechanical Systems: Design HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, ensuring proper air distribution, temperature control, and ventilation within the building.
• Electrical Systems: Plan the electrical layout, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and backup power systems, to ensure optimal performance.
• Plumbing Systems: Design plumbing layouts, including water supply, drainage, and waste management, ensuring compliance with local codes.
• Collaborate with architects to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the building design.

2. Project Management and Coordination:

• Work with architects, structural engineers, and other specialists to ensure all MEP designs align with the overall vision and functionality of the building.
• Manage and oversee the installation of MEP systems during construction.
• Ensure that all designs meet local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
• Oversee the coordination of design drawings, schematics, and layout plans with various stakeholders.

3. Compliance and Quality Control:

• Ensure that MEP designs comply with local, national, and international building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Ensure that systems are energy-efficient and sustainable, in line with modern practices and environmental concerns.
• Perform inspections and quality checks during construction to ensure the systems are installed according to the specifications.

4. Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:

• Focus on creating energy-efficient designs, optimizing resource consumption, and reducing operational costs.
• Implement sustainable building practices, such as energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems, renewable energy sources, and water-saving technologies.

5. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

• Address and resolve any issues related to MEP systems during construction, installation, or operation.
• Offer technical advice on potential upgrades or improvements to existing systems.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and system documentation.
• Maintain proper records of designs, approvals, and inspections for future reference or compliance audits.

7. Communication:

• Liaise between the architectural team and contractors to ensure the smooth integration of MEP systems into the building project.
• Provide clear communication of requirements, changes, and updates between departments.
• Provide training or guidance to the buildings operational team regarding MEP system functionality.

Job Specification:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical.
• Experience: 5+ experience in MEP design or installation, preferably within the architecture or construction industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MEP software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.), understanding of building codes and standards, energy modeling, and HVAC design.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues during the design and construction phases.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, collaborating with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders.
