Title: Product Manager

Core Activity: Portfolio Management of designated category

Reporting: National Marketing Head.

The job aims to generate revenue from the category (set of products) with an intended bottom line by nurturing the existing portfolio, working on new product introductions, and building the go-to-market strategy.

Key Tasks

• Develop a complete market information deck for all of India, State crop protection market, molecule-wise shares & crop-wise, pest-wise market intelligence
• Work on presentations required, Makers visit & maintain the required market information data
• Prepare the business cases for new products.
• Back groundwork on bringing new products either in-house or from co-comarketing.
• In case of co-marketing establish the network with other partners, basic work on making the agreements & coordinate on sales plan with BU heads.
• Profitability & Pricing management for key category products
• PLC management.

Go-to-market strategy

• Go-to-market approach - Develop dealer incentive programs for the targeted products, innovative tools, and campaigns to support the sales team.

OPERATIONAL

Products related

• Prepare product strategy and ensure implementation through the field marketing team, handhold field teams on concepts
• Review and improvise on brand/product communication including key message points, and USPs.
• Develop a new product launch process
• Develop new product communication with a sign-off with the National Marketing head
• Develop new product launch plans together with zonal development managers
• product stewardship with the support of the concerned (e.g. TD & Registrations)

Product Marketing &Training Activities

• State-level crop & product action plans to support the sales team to achieve revenues.
• Develop and implement sales promotion campaigns for the product/product categories, in collaboration with the Field Sales and market development team.
• Prepare Product Training Manuals & materials.
• Implement revisions in the sales promotion schemes, based on the feedback from the Field sales team (Eg, impact on sales, feedback from channel partners)

Budgeting exercise

Robust annual budget exercise (with required support from field Teams) as per the said objectives.

Market Intelligence

Track crop shifts and molecule shifts on a seasonal basis

Market product & Produce prices, Competitor prices & schemes

Best practices in Indian companies & MNCs.

MIS & Reporting-

Provide regular updates to the Marketing Head on key metrics including marketing expenditure (plan vs. Actual), and performance of product launches & campaigns.

Propose for Demo samples and get formal approval from ZO/HO.

Implementation of promotional budget based on NMH direction and report upon the expense realization after obtaining approvals from the Marketing Head.
