Job Description

Position Overview:

The Field Technical Sales Manager will oversee and drive sales efforts in the field for our paint products, raw material for surface coating focusing on technical support and relationship management. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and sales skills to address customer needs, promote product benefits, and achieve sales targets.

Location: Chennai


Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Sales Management: Execute sales strategies and manage client interactions in the field to drive sales growth and market penetration.
  • Technical Consultation: Provide expert technical guidance and support to customers on product selection, application methods, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal results and satisfaction.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including contractors, distributors, and homeowners, to foster loyalty and drive repeat business.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Product Demonstrations: Conduct on-site product demonstrations and training sessions to showcase product features and benefits and enhance customer knowledge and skills.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve technical issues and customer complaints in a timely and effective manner to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Reporting: Track and report on sales performance, customer feedback, and market conditions to senior management, providing insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and product development teams to provide feedback on customer needs and market trends and support the development of new products and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree Paint Technology/Chemistry, Diploma in Paint Technology, MBA in Marketing or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in technical sales within the paint manufacturing or coatings industry or selling raw materials for coating industry with a proven track record in field sales.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of paint products, application techniques, and industry standards.
  • Sales Skills: Demonstrated success in sales, with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies and achieve targets.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and persuasively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing customer needs and resolving issues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently in a field-based role, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory of South India.
