Officer - Custom Clearance

Role & responsibilities

Customs Clearance:

• Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes, for import and export shipments.
• Monitor customs clearance processes, identifying and resolving potential issues with customs authorities.
• Stay updated on changing customs regulations and compliance requirements.

Documentation Management:

• Generate and review all necessary shipping documents like invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Ensure proper documentation is submitted to customs authorities for timely clearance.

Shipment Tracking and Coordination:

• Monitor shipment progress throughout the import/export process, including tracking transportation and customs clearance stages.
• Communicate with freight forwarders, carriers, and clients regarding shipment status and potential delays.

Compliance Management:

• Adhere to all import/export regulations, including trade restrictions, sanctions, and duty calculations.
• Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks associated with shipments.

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, warehouse providers, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth shipment flow.
