Subject Matter Expert - Active Directory (10-15 yrs)

Job Description :

1. Active Directory Fundamentals :

- Understanding of AD architecture, including domains, trees, forests, and organizational units (OUs).

- Knowledge of AD services like DNS, DHCP, and Global Catalog.

2. Quest Migration Tools Proficiency :

- Experience with Quest Migration Manager for Active Directory.

- Familiarity with Quest On Demand Migration.

- Knowledge of other Quest products like Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory.

3. Migration Planning and Strategy :

- Skills in developing a detailed migration plan, including timeline, resources, and risk assessment.

4. Scripting and Automation :

- Proficiency in PowerShell for automating AD tasks.

- Experience with scripts for user provisioning and de-provisioning.

5. Data Migration Skills :

- Understanding of user and group migration processes.

- Experience with migrating AD attributes, including security settings and permissions.

- Design and deploy Active Directory forests

- Plan for and perform the consolidation of AD forests

- Plan for an enable coexistence scenarios between forests

- Use tools like Quest Migration Manager and Active Directory Migration Toolkit to migrate users, groups and computer objects between forests

- User PowerShell and other automation tools to automate as much of your work as possible

- Customize Azure AD Connect directory synchronization to accommodate mutli-forest and forest consolidation scenarios

- Identify and resolve AD health issues which may impact migrations

- Plan for and perform forest and functional upgrades

- Integrate with teams supporting AD dependent applications on-premises and in the cloud

Skillset :

- Core skill set including industry knowledge of Active Directory migration, AD design and planning

- Mid-to-expert level knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services 2012R or higher

- Knowledge and experience working with Azure AD, including directory synchronization technologies

- Core Knowledge of Quest Migration Manager , ADMT and similar tools for AD migration

- Solid grasp of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
