Product Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and data-driven Product Manager to lead the Engagement and Gamification initiatives for our cutting-edge EdTech platform, designed to inspire and empower primary school children and their teachers. This role is central to ensuring our platform remains engaging, educational, and motivational for young learners while seamlessly integrating tools that enrich the teaching experience.

As the Product Manager for Engagement and Gamification, you will own the end-to-end development of features that drive user engagement, retention, and satisfaction through interactive and gamified experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, content, marketing, and user research, to build features that delight our users and support our mission of transforming primary education.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Vision:
• Define and articulate the vision for engagement and gamification features tailored to primary school children and their teachers.
• Develop a product roadmap that aligns with the company's overall strategy and educational goals.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing the platform with gamified experiences that promote active learning, skill mastery, and long-term retention.
2. Feature Development & Execution:
• Conceptualize, design, and deliver gamification elements such as badges, rewards, leaderboards, interactive quizzes, challenges, and other playful learning mechanisms.
• Lead the development of tools that foster teacher-student collaboration, class engagement, and personalized learning journeys.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers to create child-friendly and intuitive interfaces that enhance user experience.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Partner with curriculum designers and subject-matter experts to ensure the educational relevance and integrity of gamified features.
• Act as the bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating requirements and ensuring alignment.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making:
• Use data analytics and user feedback to assess the impact of gamification features on engagement and learning outcomes.
• Develop KPIs for engagement, retention, and satisfaction; regularly monitor and report on these metrics.
• Experiment with A/B testing to optimize user experiences and iterate on features based on insights.
5. Market Research & Benchmarking:
• Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and innovations in EdTech and gamification.
• Regularly gather feedback from teachers, students, and parents to identify unmet needs and refine the product.
6. Leadership & Communication:
• Act as a champion for engagement and gamification within the organization, inspiring teams with the potential impact of your work.
• Effectively communicate product vision, priorities, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

1. Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Education Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
• 4+ years of experience in product management, preferably in EdTech, gaming, or child-focused products.
2. Skills & Competencies:
• Proven expertise in developing and launching gamification features or engagement-focused products.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, especially for children and educators.
• Ability to balance creativity with analytical rigor, leveraging data to inform decisions.
• Exceptional project management skills with experience driving cross-functional teams to deliver results on time.
3. Technical Knowledge:
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Basic understanding of UX/UI design tools and processes.
• Experience with analytics tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar.
4. Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for education and a deep understanding of how children and teachers interact with technology.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with gamification frameworks or platforms.
• Familiarity with cognitive and developmental principles in childrens learning.
• Experience with tools and platforms commonly used by teachers for classroom management.
