About the Role :

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join a high-performing engineering squad responsible for building scalable, high-performance infrastructure to support MishiPay's growth.

You'll design, develop, and optimize our backend systems, ensuring stability, scalability, and seamless customer experiences.

You will work closely with the Director of Engineering, Product, Security, and Delivery teams to implement cutting-edge solutions while tackling tech debt and scaling our platform to support thousands of stores globally.

Key Responsibilities :

- Maintain platform stability at 99.95% uptime.

- Design, develop, and deploy new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for large-scale services.

- Scale infrastructure to handle up to 100,000 transactions per day.

- Address and clear technical debt while innovating with new technologies.

- Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

- Prepare high-quality technical documentation for solutions and processes.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 3-5 years of development experience with Python (Node.js experience is a plus).

- Expertise with relational databases (e.g, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).

- Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider like AWS, Azure (preferred), or GCP.

- Proficiency with deployment and orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and scaling for millions of requests.

- (Bonus) Experience with event-driven services (e.g, Kafka, Amazon SQS, Apache Spark).

- (Bonus) Background in startups, entrepreneurial ventures, or high-growth environments.
