MishiPay is an international, leading checkout technology company that empowers shoppers to checkout instore using either self-checkout via their own smartphones, or using MishiPay's industry leading, minimalist, low cap-ex kiosks.
We are creating an enjoyable and convenient in-store shopping experience for leading retailers globally.
MishiPay now also runs Mobile POS, Click and Collect and Cash registers, so that merchants, who initially start with our self-checkout, can eventually run their whole store checkout process on MishiPay.
With our technology, retailers have proven reductions in cost, due to requiring fewer cashiers, a marked increase in sales due to improved basket sizes, higher frequency of shopper visits and reduction in abandoned baskets, and in addition, all our retailers can access rich and priceless data about their customers.
This enables a much better understanding of the- customer journey in their bricks and mortar stores.
Roles and Responsibilites :
- Lead & manage technical projects from conception to completion.
- Prepare technical specification documents with respect to the SoW.
- Estimate effort and project timelines.
- Prepare Gantt plan and allocate bandwidth.
- Deliver at high-quality standards that meet the KPIs.
- Collaborate with support & product team during the post-release hypercare period to meet the project's KPIs.
- Effectively manage projects using Scrum, or Agile or another equal framework of choice.
Manage priorities :
- Keep track of risks, blockers and due-dates.
- Analyze engineering challenges and develop solutions.
- Identify and resolve process bottlenecks.
- Automate redundant processes and tasks.
- Research and recommend new technologies suiting to organization's current tech and trajectory.
- Support & Manage technical teams.
- Ensure and advocate for staff wellbeing & work quality.
- Prevent team member burnouts, timely address their concerns.
- Conduct regular individual performance-assessments & survey.
- Influence and coach engineers.
- Set personlized learning paths and objectives for the team.
- Organize frequent training sessions within the team.
- Promote participation in tech-events for the team.
- Provides strategic guidance and mentorship to other engineering managers.
- Keep track of capacity, bandwidth and roadmap of engineering team members.
- Collaborate to keep & stay aware of all ongoing projects and developments.
- Monitor and assess the performance of the engineering team.
- Follow DORA or another equal framework of choice.
- Track and present performance, identify & lead improvements.
- Travel for on-site offshore collaboration with clients.
- Present project deliverables and the project roadmap.
- Keep internal and external stakeholders informed with project progress.
- Represent the company in events and meetings.
Eligibility :
- Minimum of 3 years of people management experience in a start-up.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience launching & maintaining software products.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent software development experience (in last 8 years).
- Realistic about budgeting, trade-offs, headcount, cash burn, etc.
- Excellent communication skills oral and written mean that you are able to speak with clarity to customers, succinctly with investors and with precision to engineers.
- Valid Passport and other requisites to travel offshore.
