Product Modeler

Job Responsibilities

• Analysis & clarify insurance product requirements (specifications, calculations, rules) with product pricing / actuarial team.
• Design and develop and test new product model and product enhancements using Product Xpress
• Unit test product calculations and validation rules
• Work closely with product pricing / actuarial team to rectify any product calculation and validation gap.
• Document project artefacts, status reports
• Participate in regional/global forums for review/update of processes, guidelines, governance materials as prescribed by Global PC CoE Shared Service construct.
• Assist in providing input to Product Modelling Guidelines and Taxonomy
• Work closely with business units and other AD teams in the analysis and root cause determination of Production issues and debugging.
• Able to understand Insurance Products, its compositions and product specifications/calculations as developed by Product Development & Product Actuaries team.
• Familiarity with Product Xpress
• Model & test new product calculations and product enhancements
• Adherence to the business (PDLC) methodology for implementations
• Requirement gathering and implementing model calculation models.
• Learn application, learn existing models, learn to support end users, analysis of transactions, failing or getting different result, debugging.
• Implementing and enhancement of product models
• Excel sheet – build a quotation tool on Excel that has many formulas, evaluate formulas and replicate the logic, create a calculation model.
• Design and expertise to develop model

Education, Technical Skills & Other Critical Requirement

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or equivalent field

Experience

(In Years)

• 6 to 8 years of experience
• Excellent English communication both verbal and written.
• Exposure to actuarial work will be an advantage.
• Exposure to product development & regulatory/compliance requirements will be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of both XML and JSON message structures
• Understanding of xsl and xproc would be an advantage.
• MS Excel and complex calculations preferred.

• Requirements management skills, to help implement and/or improve requirements processes and practices and to define, for a given initiative, the tasks to be performed, the techniques to be used, and the deliverables to be produced.
• Understanding of web application architecture, integration methodologies, messaging
