We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our Mumbai office. The primary responsibility will be managing the financial activities of our US entity. This role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS, and providing financial insights that support the strategic objectives of the US business. The ideal candidate should be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 6-11 years of relevant experience, preferably in the manufacturing or nutraceutical sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee all accounting operations for the US entity, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the US-based senior management team.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial information in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting for the US entity.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the US entity and manage ongoing forecasts to provide financial insights and guidance to support business strategy.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget, providing variance analysis and actionable insights to management in the US.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow and financial transactions to maintain optimal liquidity for the US entity.
- Implement effective cash management strategies and coordinate with US banks and financial institutions for funding and investment opportunities.
Financial Analysis & Cost Control:
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability for the US operations.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor production costs to enhance efficiency in manufacturing operations.
- Analyze financial data to provide strategic recommendations and support decision-making processes specific to the US market.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other relevant financial regulations applicable to the US entity.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audits and ensure the timely completion of statutory audit requirements for the US entity.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team in Mumbai, ensuring alignment with the financial goals of the US entity and maintaining high levels of performance.
- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: 4-5 years of relevant experience in financial management, preferably with experience handling US-based financial operations.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS and experience in managing the financial activities of a US entity.
- Technology Skills: Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Syspro) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with US-based senior management and local teams in Mumbai.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading a finance team and managing cross-functional collaborations.
Location: Must be based in Mumbai.
