Job Title: Financial Controller (Statutory Audit and Financial Control Specialist)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to oversee the full spectrum of statutory audits and financial controlling functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, managing financial operations, and driving financial strategies that align with organizational objectives. This role requires hands-on experience with statutory audits and financial controls, along with strong leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Statutory Audit Management:
- Lead and manage the entire statutory audit process, from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with local and international standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, addressing queries and ensuring smooth coordination.
- Review and finalize audit schedules, documentation, and deliverables to meet statutory deadlines.
- Identify and implement recommendations from audit findings to strengthen internal controls and compliance.
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely submission of all statutory filings, including tax returns and regulatory disclosures.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting and regulatory frameworks, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
3. Financial Control and Oversight:
- Oversee the organization's financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
- Monitor and manage the organization's financial health, including cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis and actionable insights.
4. Risk Management and Governance:
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and governance.
5. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals to achieve department goals and support their professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in financial management, with a focus on statutory audits.
- Proven experience with one of the Big 4 accounting firms (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG) is highly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Expertise in managing audits, including planning, execution, and resolution of findings.
- Proficiency in using financial management systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
