Engineer development

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Design & Development

â Design and develop new brake lining and brake pad formulations to meet OEM and aftermarket requirements.

⢠Select materials, friction compounds, and bonding agents based on durability, wear resistance, and cost-effectiveness.

• Work with suppliers and material scientists to ensure optimal raw material selection.

2. Testing & Validation

• Develop and execute testing protocols (wear, friction coefficient, noise, and thermal resistance).

• Ensure products comply with SAE, ISO, and regulatory standards.

• Conduct failure analysis and continuous product improvement based on test data.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production and scalability.

• Work with quality assurance to maintain high product reliability.

• Support sales & marketing teams with technical inputs and customer presentations.

4. Project Management

• Lead new product development (NPD) projects from concept to commercialization.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

• Maintain detailed technical documentation, reports, and product specifications.

5. Customer & Supplier Interaction

• Communicate with OEMs and aftermarket customers to understand their requirements.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customer issues.

• Liaise with vendors and R&D partners for technology development.

Key Requirements:

1. Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Regular Course).

• 5+ years of experience in NPD of friction materials (brake linings, brake pads, or similar products).

• Hands-on experience with material formulation, validation, and testing.

2. Technical Skills

• Knowledge of braking system mechanics and friction materials.

• Experience with product validation tools (Dynamometer, Chase Test, etc.).

• Familiarity with CAD software for product design.

3. Industry Knowledge

• Understanding of automotive OEM and aftermarket requirements.

• Awareness of SAE, ISO, BIS, and global friction material standards.

4. Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
