SAP BASIS - Specialist

Role & responsibilities:

• Support the Basis Team on Job management, Release management and day to day Basis activities. Maintaining the SAP Basis documents and to understand its criticality and usage.
• Participate in global SAP projects and contributes with knowledge in that field, in order to secure that projects can be completed as expected and within the timeframe.
• Designs, debugs, and tests a range of SAP products available in Linde Group.
• Participate & available in Team Call Outs and provide Out of office Hours support, including weekend & public holidays, as required, for the service.
• Required to handle adaptations of complex software within the subject area.

Key Interfaces :

• Business Process Specialists and Business Process Managers
• Support Teams within & outside the Centre
• Surge Partners/ Third Party Vendors
• Project Managers
• Process Teams i.e., Service Quality Management, Service Provider Management, and others.

• Ability to plan own workload and work in teams effectively.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to learn and work in a meticulous and organized manner.
• Good communication skills required to effectively coordinate with other IS functions and with peers across locations working across different time zones.

Required key skills:

• Ability to learn and absorb knowledge quickly.
• Good understanding of customer needs and demands through working in a service delivery environment and supporting business critical services.
• Operating System skills in Unix, AIX, HP UX, Linux
• Experience of working in both small and large teams is desirable.
• Experience in global working is desirable.
• Good communication and coordination skills
• DBA Skills (Preferable not Mandatory)
• Oracle Installation on UNIX / Windows.
• Monitoring of database.
• Sizing and capacity planning
• Security and integrity Administration.
• Perform updates, patch installation and audits.
• SAP DB Upgrade and migration.
• Structural change review and implementation.
• Administration of Enterprise Management, and recovery catalog databases
• Experience in Backup and Recovery.
• Knowledge of SQLNET, INET, ODBC, TCP/IP

Qualification:

• Degree standard education (preferably scientific, technical, or business discipline).

Experience:

• Minimum 2-5 years experience in a business/information technology environment, with experience of all aspects of SAP systems Administration.
