Job Description


Job Title:Senior Manager Direct Taxation India,

• Function:Finance Department
• Report to:Senior Tax Director - Europe, Africa & Asia.
• Location:Pune, India

Position Focus: The Senior Tax Manager - India is part of regional tax team primarily responsible for the management and coordination of Indian corporate income tax issues. The role based in Pune covers responsibilities for 2 legal entities comprising several plants/physical locations as well as non-consolidated joint-venture(s) established in India.
The position requires extensive professional experience combined with practical knowledge with respect to local country tax issues as well as tax planning. It is also important to have good understanding of U.S. tax reporting (tax accounting) process applicable for publicly traded multinational corporation.

Job Description:

• Effectively manage Indian corporate income tax compliance.
• Establish, develop and constantly manage local direct tax team to ensure they are highly trained tax professionals.
• Improve and efficiently implement processes and procedures around tax compliance/reporting/planning.
• Identify opportunities to minimize to the extent possible Lears effective tax rate and cash tax rate (identify strategic risks and opportunities and propose/communicate/supervise and manage respective implementation process).
• Monitoring and coordinating Transfer Pricing issues (transaction level) and improve documentation.
• Continuously increase level of corporate governance with respect to corporate tax issues
• Manage income tax audits/ongoing tax controversies.
• Coordinate various corporate restructuring projects/initiatives including e.g. tax structuring for new investments, acquisitions, and disposals.
• Manage US tax reporting obligations including but not limited to: a review quarterly and annual U.S. tax provision calculations and analysis including return to provision, FIN48 tax exposures, APB 23 calculations and impact of international transactions.
• Supervise monthly tax account reporting including cash taxes (for both actual close and forecast).
• Assist Regional Treasury team with cash management and dividend/capital planning.
• Review from a tax perspective relevant legal documentation (e.g., Share Purchase Agreements, Shareholder Resolutions, Board Resolutions).

Experience:

The successful candidate must have at least 10 years of demonstrated tax experience in an international environment (with consulting or industry or some combination). He / She must have strong knowledge of U.S. tax accounting rules and have an outstanding understanding of local tax rules in India. Experience with a U.S. based multinational company in the automotive industry or manufacturing is preferred. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Education :

A bachelors degree in accounting, finance, law or related business field is required. An advanced degree and/or Chartered Accountant/CPA is a must.
