Job Description

Role & responsibilities


Consumer Insights & Analytic Lead is responsible for developing overall customer insights and market research projects. Act as bridge between marketing, sales & business development teams by providing insightful guidance and views on market and customer trends. You will gather and leverage customer data and insights on industry trends and markets to build marketing initiatives and ensure brand recognition and success. You will contribute to building relationships and implementing new programs that will increase our business revenue potential and minimize churn rates. You will lead, coach, and empower Customer Insights team members to be successful in their roles.


  • Build on customer insight and market trends data to leverage analytics-based learning to increase brand salience. Evaluate the current product portfolio for each category/ brand on periodic basis and identify improvement/opportunity areas to optimize portfolio basis of findings from market research.
  • Provide inputs on the portfolio optimization to brand managers in order to ensure product portfolio meets the requirements of market/customers as per market research findings.
  • New Product/Product Extension Planning, Development and Launch:
  • Participate in discussions with brand/product development team to understand new product brief and monitor and review the testing undertaken by the team and identify areas for improvement in product based on analysis of test results
  • Discuss areas of improvement/recommendations in conjunction with the Manager Marketing Research, the brand team & product development team in order to ensure that new products/product extensions meet needs of market/customers as per market research findings
  • Identify ideal methodology and oversee the data collection process and analytic work plan to ensure all available information is generated to support business needs
  • Leverage research data and information to proactively identify business opportunities and gain internal support to act on these opportunities
  • Create the Market Research brief in discussion with the brand team and share the same with the Marketing Research agency.
  • Monitor the Marketing Research field work undertaken by the agency on a periodic basis.
  • Discuss in detail with the Manager Market Research & evaluate the report basis the Brief provided to finalist on the conclusions
  • Maintain all databases pertaining to Retail Audit, Household Purchase, Brand Health track, Media data & Adhoc studies to be archived or maintained.
  • Generate and share periodic reports with the brand team & other required stakeholders basis need or protocol
  • Guides Customer Insights team to develop these strategies into detailed plans and executions.
  • Evaluates team employed on their deliverables and ensures desired results are achieved.
  • Develops standardised Systems and Processes to enhance performance and remove redundancies.
  • Review workforce plan and organization structure for the function and make changes to the same in light of changing business priorities;
  • Articulate key performance indicators and competency requirements for team members.
  • Drive recruitment process for the function and conduct interviews for selection of right candidates
  • Coach and mentor, provide challenging assignments and high visibility training for high performers
  • Hold regular communication meetings with team to share organizational updates, functional priorities, performance updates, resolve issues
  • Motivate teams to improve productivity, drive engagement in the team, and build a culture of high performance and meritocracy by recommending promotions for right candidates, and implementing an effective, fair and transparent talent management system
