BASIC FUNCTION

The Manager - Finance is responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Finance Head & Plant Head towards manufacturing cost control, reporting and analysis. The position is responsible for working with the Plant Head and all other Functional Heads & their teams in the Plant, and other key business managers across Procurement, NPI, Marketing teams in the development and improvement of the standard & actual product costing of every product being manufactured at the Plant and in driving the entire organization to new levels of accuracy, understanding and control. Responsible for month and year end closing for the plant and annual budget rollups and rolling monthly forecast planning for balance of the year. The Manager - Finance will drive continuous improvement of existing processes and shall execute the role in alignment with Kohler Co. policies, procedures and organization structure. Must maintain the highest level of integrity and candor to all key management levels of the business and Kohler Co.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Administer and improve the cost accounting and control system for production and product development which among other includes:
   o Collecting & analysing data to determine costs of business activity such as raw materials, labour, utilities and other operating expenses.
   o Analysing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
   o Analysing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
   o Managing cost audits

o Making estimates of new and proposed product costs

1. Responsible for coordinating the annual budgeting, financial planning for the business with ownership till its final approval. Responsible for the monthly financial projections with precision. Key player in the strategic planning and other business planning processes

1. Responsible for monthly & year end closing of the Plant - Booking of Provisions & review of GL Balances, payroll/C&B review, Explanation of variations from projections & Plan / Forecast, Analysis and review of Balance sheet schedules, Manufacturing Variance analysis & review, PPV Review, Inventory provisions, actuals vs. Plan/forecast review by cost centre

1. Responsible for preparation and analysis of Plant Management Information reports with suitable recommendations and drive visibility on status of action items. Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

1. Driving and representation of Capital Planning process for Capital Projects of future years in close coordination with cross functional inputs. Assistance to Manufacturing Finance Head & Plant Head and other authorities on overall annual capital plan preparation, tracking status and completion. Presentation of capital plan to senior management and periodic reviews.

1. Responsible for evaluation of Proposals for Capital Expenditure and monitoring expenses associated with all Capital Projects. Actively coordinating with accounting team on expenses required to be capitalized in line with existing Accounting norms.

1. Cost Savings Champion - Driving all cost savings/CI projects - Demonstrating Business Partnering abilities. Initiating/participating ideas for cost saving or continuous improvement of business systems/processes from a quality and productivity perspective. Use benchmarking and best practice information to gain perspective. Initiate & participate IT automation initiatives for continuous improvement of processes.

1. Involvement in day to day production activities and working closely with production team to explore the financial impacts of the proposed activities / modifications. Contributing with ideas or initiatives leading to improvement in Cost Efficiency and cost savings

1. Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the system of internal controls for the business. Use feedback from internal and external auditors to improve on internal control weaknesses. Ensure periodic physical verifications of inventory & Fixed Assets, statutory compliances & statutory audit compliance, internal audits & controls compliance

1. Fixed Asset Accounting - PI calculation, Physical Verification & tagging and asset capitalization on time, improved processes set-up and review, finance lead in factory footprint maximization/expansion projects
2. End - to - end Inventory analysis and review, especially control over Excess & Obsolete
3. End-to-end scrap sales ownership - rates review, process review, analysis and physical checks
4. GST Credit-related ownership on capex and single point of contact for HO Tax team
   

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Reports to Manufacturing Finance Head
Frequent interface with Plant Head and internal departments of Kohler India and overseas Kohler Group offices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

CA, CMA or University degree in business management, accounting or economics
At least 10 years of relevant experience in multinational environment

At least 6 years of relevant experience in manufacturing set-up
Hands on experience of SAP & product costing is a must
Proficiency in both written and spoken English
